Native Title Rockets
The Right to Say No
ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOGLINE
Native Title Rockets investigates the impact on First Nations communities when commercial and government interests threaten sacred Aboriginal land.

SYNOPSIS
When a commercial space launch site is established on Aboriginal land in South Australia, and sacred birthing trees are felled in rural Victoria, communities are divided, as external competing forces put their own interests ahead of cultural, social and ethical responsibilities. In the wake of the Juukan Gorge Caves desecration by Rio Tinto last year, this story examines how misinformation, a lack of resources, poverty, and a disregard for places of cultural significance is leading governments and commercial interests to repeat the same mistakes.
