    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
After getting kicked out of an ayahuasca ceremony, two wellness gals who aren’t well desperately search for another shaman, but encounter a series of dangerous weirdos who accidentally enable the transcendent experience they need.

    SYNOPSIS
Transcendent satirizes wellness culture and meditates on what it means to actually find a little bit of healing in these crazy times. Jessa and Tinsley have tried everything—talk therapy, meds, psychics, witches, and some things they won’t even admit. Still, nothing helps. So naturally, they sign up for an ayahuasca ceremony.

Floor neighbors-turned-codependent besties during the pandemic, Jessa is a magnetic, polyamorous artist who feels nothing despite loving everything. Tinsley is a lovable plus-one who’s lost her center. Her fiancée Meg just moved out, demanding she choose between starting a family upstate or staying stuck. What no one knows is that Tinsley recently discovered the identity of the daughter she gave up for adoption at fifteen. She’s sober, spiraling, and on a deadline—her lease is up in days, and Meg wants an answer.

Jessa suggests a psychedelic trip upstate to help Tinsley realize “her fiancée is a goblin” and finally choose a life path. But Jessa’s glittering persona is a shield, keeping her from real connection—and a job.

When Jessa refuses to give up her phone, they’re kicked out of the ceremony. They crash at a farm owned by her ex, a DJ-turned-goat-herder, and begin a wild quest to find a new high and thousands in cash—all in one weekend. Tinsley secretly plots a detour: her daughter teaches yoga nearby.

Dodging cops, drug dealers, and Meg’s increasingly frantic texts, they spiral through chaotic misadventures. Ultimately, their real trip isn’t chemical—it’s emotional. TRANSCENDENT is about finding healing not in ceremonies or substances, but in facing the truth they’ve spent years avoiding.
