The Weekend on Cape Cod When Everything Changed
ABOUT THE PROJECT

LOGLINE
To keep her visa status, a wide-eyed Iranian immigrant accepts a proposal from the son of her billionaire boss. What begins as a green card wedding on Cape Cod becomes so much more when her two closest friends arrive with their own boyfriends and cross-cultural baggage in tow.

SYNOPSIS
When Rana’s expiring visa forces her to face the reality of giving up her career dreams and returning home to Iran, she accepts a wedding proposal from her “fun summer fling” Adam, who happens to be the son of her billionaire boss.

Overwhelmed by her decision, Rana enlists the help of her two closest friends, Nadia and Setareh, inviting them to her impromptu Cape Cod wedding. Will this decision be the weekend of her dreams or the worst mistake of her life?

The three friends reunite on the beach when Nadia and Setareh arrive with their own boyfriends (and drama) in tow. What starts off as a simple visa wedding becomes more complicated when unexpected feelings, friends’ opinions, and cultural expectations are involved.

As with most wedding stories, hijinks ensue—including a disastrous beach bonfire and clam bake, cross-cultural misunderstandings and miscommunications, a useless Best Man who is never quite where you need him to be, and a sham of a shaman.

Over the course of the weekend, friendships and romances start to unravel. Rana suspects that her visa wedding may be masking the true feelings she’s been developing for Adam, but she doesn’t know who to talk to about it. Nadia finally has to admit that she might be more than friends with Ryan. And Setareh comes to the realization that she and her fiance Pat are on completely different life trajectories…and that’s OK.

Rana, Nadia, and Setareh will forever remember this trip as THE WEEKEND ON CAPE COD WHEN EVERYTHING CHANGED.
