    Presenting Geraldine Page
    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
Presenting Geraldine Page examines the remarkable, often turbulent journey a theatrical genius who showed the world just how far we can dream if we have courage to reach for it.

    SYNOPSIS
Considered to be one of the most influential artists of the 20th Century, Geraldine Page is revered by the entertainment industry and celebrated by her peers, yet to the general public, she has fallen into obscurity. Presenting Geraldine Page is an illuminating, insightful, at times painful examination of a fiercely unconventional actress, who often at great risk, defied insurmountable odds to put her art above all.

From the Golden Era of Hollywood, there emerged a new kind of actor. The likes of Marlon Brando, James Dean, and Montgomery Clift heralded a cultural shift in the landscape of 20th century film, and are oft praised for introducing a new school of performance to the art form.

As tends to be the case, much of the praise for this change in landscape fell to the boy’s club, a cabal of men reaping the benefits of glory. And while their contributions are unquestionable, there are often unsung heroes of this movement whose work had just as much impact. Perhaps more.

Such is the work of Geraldine Page.

A tale of an unapologetic artist blazing a trail, Presenting Geraldine Page is the story of a woman who sought not to be a star, but a creator. A woman whose work redefined what it meant to be a performer on stage and screen, and whose commitment to craft inspired a whole new generation of performers to seek more authentic, earnest connection to their art.

It’s also the story of the contradictory life of a figure so monolithic and self-assured, but sensitive and self-defeating in an industry so determined to define the undefinable.

Presenting Geraldine Page is the story of a woman who did it her way, and changed the world of performance in the process.
