Film1 is a Dutch premium television and video on demand service that replaced Canal+ and is owned by SPI International (previously owned by Liberty Global and Sony Pictures Television).

The have multiple channels:

  • Film1 Premiere: Main flagship channel.
  • Film1 Action: Second channel focuses on thriller, action, and horror films.
  • Film1 Family: Third channel which focuses on comedy, family and children films.
  • Film1 Drama: Fourth channel.
  • Film1 On Demand: A video on demand-service that provides selected content from all the above channels on an on-demand basis is also available. The service is also available from Ziggo’s VOD service.

Film1 relaunches OTT subscription plan

Dutch premium movie service Film1, now owned by SPI International, has relaunched its OTT subscription for a monthly fee of €9.99.

New subscribers receive a week of free viewing.

The pricing compares to the €14.99 most cable and IPTV operators charge their customers for access to the linear and on-demand channels from Film1.

The service is available on most distribution platforms, including Ziggo, KPN, Canal Digitaal and T-Mobile. Such a subscription allows access to the platform on the operator’s service, but also to the OTT platform.
