    ABOUT THE PROJECT

    LOGLINE
    Zade Film Fund will support narrative and documentary feature films that portray Muslims as non-radical, everyday people. The fund will also support films made by or primarily casting underrepresented groups.

    SYNOPSIS
    At the heart of Zade is where the art of film meets social impact. Zade is a film fund that aims to support narrative and documentary feature films that portray Muslims in a non-stereotypical, non-radical light as well as fund projects that are made by or primarily cast people from underrepresented groups. The primary purpose of the fund is to change current negative perceptions of the Muslim community and other underrepresented groups through film.

    Zade’s approach will capitalize documentary and narrative feature films that are not readily being funded by the prominent indie investor pool, but have a viable opportunity in the market place. The main focus of the films supported through the fund will be films that portray Muslims as non-threatening/non-radical/everyday people. The fund will also support select films made by or primarily casting underrepresented groups. Our goal is to invest across different genres and budgets, giving the slate breadth and diversity.

    The fund will place a priority on the following criteria when selecting projects:

    • Responsible and collaborative writers and directors who possess strong, original voices;
    • Experienced, creative producers who have consistently delivered quality films and demonstrated the ability to manage a production;
    • Diverse on-screen talent, supporting authentic performances and measured distribution opportunities;
    • Creative deals with filmmakers, talent and distributors to enhance probability for success.


    Zade intends to inject funds at critical points of need through a combination of equity investments, bridge loans, grants, donations and in-kind services. Each investment will be directed towards projects that we believe will fulfill the fund’s mission.
